The Safari
The Sussens family has devoted 30 years developing their 5000 hectare private game reserve into a true wildlife haven.
Close to Hoedspruit the reserve boasts the Big-Five, where previously there had been nothing.
The first animals to be re-introduced to the property were white rhino, hence the name Tshukudu, meaning rhino in Sotho.
Tshukudu staff focus their expert leadership to track and spot the abundant game, while at the same time passing on their knowledge of wildlife to their guests. Tshukudu is a true pioneer in the game-industry and has been very successful in its lion-breeding project that has introduced lion to game reserves all over South Africa.
Exciting game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles are supplemented by fascinating walking trails, both conducted by experienced, enthusiastic rangers. This dedication to the wild extends to raising orphaned animals of all types before re-introducing them to their natural environment.
During game drives guests are taken for close up views of the lion breeding camps and in search of the big-Five. In between the game drives and walks, guests can enjoy a hearty luncheon on the veranda and later lounge around a welcoming, cool swimming pool.
Your comfort and relaxation are well-catered for; accommodation is in charming, en-suite thatched cottages. Relax around the pool and recount your experiences over the delicious meals.
