From the Bush Camp
As Ian passed away a year ago we all had to adapt to running the camp without his wonderful presence.
Fortunately all the staff have been stepping up to the task and continued to do their utmost to make our guests feel comfortableand ensure they have an unforgettable experience at Tshukudu Bush Camp.
David, our 2ndeldest son, has taken over from Ian and apart from loving the bush just like his Dad did, he is competent taking guests on walks and drives and doing most of the maintenance.
We had an extremely busy year and it looks like it is going to be the same this year. We also had many school and youth groups coming for an educational trail and it is always rewarding seeing the youngsters taking to the bush environment and learning and loving allabout it.
Apart from building a luxury “honeymoon” cottage, suited well also for disabled guests, we have switched to solar geysers andare proud to be able to contribute saving emissions.
We also installed air-conditioners in all the bedrooms so guests are more comfortable in summer.
The platform to watch game from and overlooking the dam is a big hit with guests and currently our “Swiss” hippo loves to swim in said dam.
On the animal front we had many baby cats born: baby wild cats, caracals and lions and everybody loves interacting with them andgoing on walks with some of them.
My special caracal is called “Karoo” and he is at 6 weeks already exploring the bush close to our house together with his 5 month old brother.
To all our many friends and guests -we are always happy to see so many of you return and visit us again and again.
